We are strong women motivated to build strong girls.
Gamma Phi Beta believes that girls need to be mentally, socially and physically strong to achieve their potential in today's society.
Our mission to build strong girls began in the 1920s as Gamma Phi Betas identified a desire to provide underprivileged girls a retreat from their daily circumstances. They needed a place to learn about themselves and to build character to help them face life's challenges.
Today's girls face more challenges than ever before, making the need for a safe place with supportive mentors even greater. Girls need women in their lives who can help them develop the skills to succeed in life.
Gamma Phi Beta is proud to partner with national organizations that share our dedication to building strong girls. Through our partnerships we provide one-on-one mentoring, supportive group activities and financial resources to help our partners impact the lives of today's girls.
Beyond our national partners, Gamma Phi Beta encourages our chapters to find local organizations that are building strong girls in their communities.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is an organization that helps girls develop self-confidence through athletic achievement and wellness workshops. Eta Lambda is very lucky to have local Orlando chapter of GOTR that gives us hands-on experience and an active role with young women. We contribute by volunteering as running buddies, or assisting with the "happy hair" station and cheering on the girls at their annual 5K. We've also invited the girls out for a day to have their own fashion show, and have raised money to deliver brand new shoes for them. Gamma Phi Beta gladly gives back to Girls on the Run because we know that strong girls grow up to be strong women.
