It's Big-Little week is here once again! To celebrate, we wanted to feature a true and constant big-little pair on the blog today.
Savannah Tricomi nominated her big Hannah Bryant to be featured as a true and constant. Her reasoning was this: “Hannah is always there for literally everyone. Even when she has a hard day she always has a smile on her face because she always puts others first. Hannah is the best big and the best friend that anyone could ever have. I'm beyond thankful that she is a part of my life and I honestly don't think I would have survived freshman year without her.”
Hannah also could not imagine her life without Savannah either. “I love having Savannah as my little because she’s someone I can be 100% myself with and talking to her always makes my day. She’s such a sweetheart and is always there for me and I’m always there for her. She motivated me to be a better version of myself and I couldn’t be happier she’s in my life.”
Back when we were able to have in person events and gather with our sisters, Savannah and Hannah always seemed happier when they were together. From the beginning, these two had a strong bond. “One of my favorite memories with Savannah was when I was having a rough day during the spring semester and she showed up at my apartment with Chick-Fil-A and we watched Gilmore Girls together,” Hannah says. Even though Hannah is Savannah’s mentor, their relationship has evolved beyond that into friendship and the life-long bonds of sisterhood that we want to find in joining Gamma Phi Beta.
It all starts with building a strong foundation from the beginning. “Many people don't know this but I actually sprained my ankle on the first day of school in the fall semester and Hannah brought an ankle brace, crutches, and medicine to my dorm because she wanted to help in any way she could. She is always the first one to respond when someone needs help and if that isn't the definition of a true and constant sister then I don't know what is,” Savannah shares. Even before Hannah became Savannah’s big, she went above and beyond to show Savannah what being a true and constant meant.
These two are so happy to have had Gamma Phi bring them together. When asked if she wants Savannah to know anything, Hannah says, “One thing I want Savannah to know is that I’m so proud of her and I’m so thankful and blessed to have her in my life.”
At the end of the day, we hope that all of our newly initiated sisters have found a true and constant big-little relationship similar to that of Hannah and Savannah. While life doesn’t look like what it used to, it’s a little easier to handle when you have wonderful people by your side.
